If you read Mastery by Robert Greene, you can totally skip this book. Mastery has a lot more depth in concepts and gives more practical techniques than this one.
The primary complaint I have about this is that it contains advice and lacks practicality. I liked 2 parts of the book; I wasn’t able to connect with the 3rd part, as it delves into spirituality. I am not fond of spiritual books. To me, reading them is like reading fantasy books, as they are not grounded in reality.
It is by turning professional. A professional is someone who has the discipline and does the work even if he/she is not feeling like doing it. A professional seeks order in what he/she is doing and has patience in the process. A professional doesn’t give excuses and prepares himself/herself for worst-case scenarios because he/she knows resistance is an evil force and constantly tries to hinder the work.
Resistance is something that sits right at the core and prevents you from doing the work that needs to be done. Self-doubt, procrastination, fear, and rationalization are some forms of resistance we experience in our lives. Resistance sabotages us completely by not letting us do the work we are here to do. But how can someone beat the resistance?
Have you faced this situation where you have work that excites you but can’t pull yourself to do it? If yes, you are dealing with resistance.
