We all mostly aspire to live without regrets. We go to an extent to declare that we have no regrets. But a glance over the decisions we made says otherwise. We see regrets as scars, something we need to avoid at all costs. Regrets, however, are essential for growth and for developing deeper meaning in our lives.
Regrets can help us transform when we look at them differently. Instead of assigning regrets to our sense of self, we can think of them as instructors, revealing where we need to work and where we need to improve. When we do that, we give them the power to enrich and change us.
The Power of Regret by Daniel Pink is an interesting read for sure. It is written comprehensively. You will learn what a regret is, when you would consider something as a regret, what types of regret you can have, and lastly, how to see a regret. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I recommend this book.
P.S.: It has been some time since I read a book. I came to Canada to pursue my master’s. As you might guess, I am occupied with assignments, searching for part-time work, and, more importantly, settling here. I am mostly reading books when I am commuting from one place to another. We need to make more time for reading and writing.
