The Art of Spending Money by Morgan Housel

Spending is easier than earning, but do we know how to spend? Although we spend money based on life experiences and individuality, we can understand the motivations and intentions behind each purchase. This way, we will be more content with our decisions, and spending will feel more meaningful.

Almost all the time, we spend money to impress, get attention, and gain admiration from others. That’s the fastest way to go broke. And you will not be satisfied with any expenditure if your motivation is to get looks. Rather, our purchases should be for ourselves.

Being selfish, especially when it comes to our spending, is a good thing. You see your happiness. It may not be useful but still brings so much joy and contentment to you. That’s what we should aim for.

“The Art of Spending Money” is a good read. It’s the second book I’ve read by the author. Although I felt some chapters could be combined, overall it is a decent read. I recommend it.
