I would like to thank Reid Hoffman for sending me a special edition of his book. Whoever came up with the idea needs a raise. It makes the whole reading experience unique and special, something for the reader himself. That’s amazing.
AI has been in the news almost every day. There are so many updates and advancements we can hardly keep up with. With news, a sense of fear rises. Media doesn’t help us either. It fuels our fears. It keeps stressing two things: the loss of jobs and that AI will take over humanity.
Reid is an optimistic person. You will feel it while reading the book. Despite the clamors, he explains we don’t have to panic. Technological disruption shakes us to the core, but it has been happening since the Industrial Revolution, and we have been hearing doomsday talks since then. But see where we are now.
Rather than negating AI altogether, we need to be concerned about problems it can raise, especially ethical issues. Whether we hate AI or love it, it will be here and affecting our lives. We understand what it is, how and where we are going to employ it, and, most importantly, how we can update ourselves in the wake of AI and keep our jobs.
Superagency is a good book on AI. It educated me about how it functions and what it is not. If you are looking for a book that explains AI, I recommend this book. It’s informative and optimistic about our future.
