When you hear the word “trauma,” you might think of big, terrible events that could happen to a person, which entirely change his/her life. But trauma can be small too. These small traumatic incidents go unnoticed but affect us deeply day to day. It is essential to address them to live an authentic and healthy life.

People who never encountered major traumatic episodes in their lives but can feel and experience a sense of numbness, anxiety, stress, eating disorders, and relationship issues, and importantly, they don’t deserve anything. To understand what is happening and why you are feeling the way you are feeling, you need to look at incidents that occur every day.

The author suggested the AAA method to help you to be Aware of your Tiny T (small trauma), Accept whatever it is, and take necessary Actions to overcome it. It sounds too simple, I know. But people tend to skip the acceptance part because it makes them feel uncomfortable and uneasy. To change yourself, it is important to sit with discomfort.

Tiny Traumas by Meg Arroll is a good read but lengthy for me. Mostly because I read almost all the concepts written in the book before. What I liked is that, before every chapter, the author mentioned what you are going to find in it. Exercises, journal prompts, and healing tips are helpful and help a reader to delve deeply into themselves. It’s useful for beginners.
