Some of us have been through traumatic events in our lives. We had suffered and lost hope. It isn’t easy to see life optimistically after these events.
We couldn’t pull ourselves to tomorrow, as today is overwhelming. However, whatever we have been through, we should be hopeful in all circumstances.
It’s one of the few books that you remember much of its information throughout your life. It’s an eye-opener for me. It had impacted me a lot that I stopped complaining about stressful and traumatic events and started to look for meaning.
Perhaps, you might have come across the famous quote from this book: “The last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances.” But you will take away valuable lessons from this book.
For a man’s happiness, three things are essential: meaningful work, meaningful relationships, and a meaning for his suffering. Most of all, he should be hopeful about the future.
As Andy says in Shawshank Redemption, “Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.”
