The Seeker of Nothing by Kabir Munjal

It’s been almost a year since I read a fiction book. I’m glad that I read this book to put a full stop to that. The story is fast-paced and engaging throughout; although the second half of the book is focused on self-help, it doesn’t come off as preachy. The characters and story’s world are given enough details that keep you going and vivid while imagining.

Though I would have enjoyed more hurdles and hindrances in the protagonist’s path, overall I didn’t feel bored or incomplete while reading the book. I really liked the self-help with a fantasy touch. Dialogues don’t sound out of place; they don’t take you out of the story; they are parable-like, ones that put forward the lessons.

I might be too far with my comparison, but this book reminded me of The Alchemist, one of my favorite books. Like that, The Seeker of Nothing is a short and interesting read. One thing is, you follow the trajectory of the protagonist’s path, and you notice his character arc as the story unfolds. I liked it.

I recommend this book if you are a beginner or in a reading slump and want to come out of it. This would be a great read.
