Stop Overthinking by Nick Trenton

Nothing good is born out of overthinking. In fact, it makes us blind to see what is obvious. When things are derailed, when stress is mounting, when our body is paralyzed by fear, we need to change our perception and employ certain techniques to bring clarity of thought and ground beneath our feet.

Although we know that we need to be calm in stressful situations, we get caught up in emotion and get swayed by our thoughts. We need to remind ourselves that it is in these moments we need to be more alert and stop stirring the water. When we sit down to write what is going on, we get aware of things and we can decide what to do next

Interestingly, the book, which is just over 160 pages, offers practical advice on how to tackle overthinking and anxiety. If you forgive a few grammatical mistakes here and there, this is a solid book on stress management and calming ourselves down.

But if you have read many books on CBT and anxiety, you might not find anything new here. If you haven’t read any, this book is for you. No bullshit, straight to the point, and practical techniques. I recommend this book if you are feeling anxious and under stress constantly.
